Soundkeeper Eco Adventure Tours Set Sail in 2007!

Following on the success of the 2007 Eco Adventure Tours of Nantucket Sound, Nantucket Soundkeeper and Three Bays Preservation teamed up again in 2008 to offer cruises through the three bays of Barnstable – Cotuit Bay, North Bay and West Bay.

On May 25th of Memorial Day weekend, over 150 people joined us for one of four 90-minute cruises on board the Patriot Too. Passengers were treated not only to sunny skies and warm temperatures, but also to spectacular views of Sampson’s Island, Dead Neck, and Osterville’s Little and Grand Islands.  Soundkeeper and Three Bays staff were on hand to provide commentary on water quality, aquaculture, fisheries and local legends like that of Hannah Screecham and her sister. Osprey and least terns were sighted in the skies overhead and containers full of plankton were collected from the waters below.  Judging from the comments heard as passengers departed – a wonderful time was had by all.
